FINDING COMMONGROUND

Have you ever felt that you can’t really put your finger on what it is that makes you want to explore the world beyond the mundane? That appetite you have for understanding and learning? Well, this might be one of the leitmotifs of 2024 and we believe that this macro trend is here to stay…at least for a while.

Experts have every confidence that it is finally time to ground ourselves into here and now through raising our consciousness and becoming more grounded in our roots, no matter where that might be for each one of us. Finding Commonground promises to not only intertwine nature and urbanism, but to celebrate cultural diversity through creative expression and organic lifestyle.

We are definitely ones to swear by the formula of Protect & Connect and recognize it as the epitome of this macro trend. Known as Wabi/Sabi in Japan or as Hygge all around the Scandinavian regions, we are exposed more than ever to a movement that embraces the art of living in contentment with oneself and other communities.

Some of the most familiar hues you will notice across the creative, cultural and technological spaces include shades of ground coffee, oat milk, green fig, cosmic latte, mocha, windy skies and powdered sugar. This palette is meant to invite people to reflect upon what honest living means to them and how it replicates in their immediate environment. Some of the most notable textural characteristics for Commonground will be unrefined edges, natural stones and sustainable leather. Other distinguishable surfaces which might catch your eye are cane, massive wood, terracotta and terrazzo.

Designers like Stella McCartney and Berlin-based/ Danish-born architect, Sigurd Larsen are reintroducing the environmentalist causes brought to us as a creative resort to rejuvenate the ecosystem. Whether we are discussing safeguarding and rewilding forgotten spaces or bringing a nice boutique hotel right in the heart of nature, we consider that there is a tremendous need on the current market for deliberate activism led by example.

Unlike Smart Living, Finding Commonground is less centered around efficacy and a tech-infused future, but it is equally focused on taking the time to celebrate the unification of citified elements and less traveled spaces into a cross-cultural experience.
